Dear Clemens Families!
With yesterday’s freezing temperatures we had a frozen coil in the heating system of our Porta Pak which in turn set off the sprinkler system. We have had extensive water damage which has meant an evacuation of the following classrooms for approximately 2 weeks: Ms. Rolt, Madame Atack, Madame Haramule, and Madame Scheunemann (Madame Ternent’s replacement).
Fortunately, our neighbours at Saginaw Public School have available classrooms to house our temporarily displaced Dolphins. Here are some important details:
Beginning tomorrow-Thursday January 15, the above classes will be bussed to Saginaw Public School. They will be following the day schedule of Saginaw and their school times are from 9:15-3:35 p.m.
Due to parking constrictions at Saginaw Public, ALL students in the above classes will be bussed to and from Saginaw from Clemens Mill. Please DO NOT take your child directly to Saginaw or pick them up there at the end of the day. Buses will leave Clemens Mill at 9:00 a.m. and depart Saginaw at 3:40 p.m. returning to Clemens.
We will offer before school supervision in our library between 8:20 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., for any of our displaced Dolphins arriving before 9 a.m. There will also be after school supervision in the library from 2:50 p.m.-3:40 p.m. for any siblings of Clemens students who need to wait for a brother or sister to return to Clemens from Saginaw. When your child in either Ms. Rolt’s, Madame Atack’s, Madame Haramule’s, and Madame Scheunemann’s (Madame Ternent’s replacement) classes comes to Clemens in the morning, they should enter via the front doors and immediately go to the library. The doors to the Porta Pak are closed while the repairs are being done.
Students who are currently in our portables will be entering the school via an alternative door while the repairs are being completed.
If your child rides the school bus to and from Clemens they will follow their regular routine in the morning and go directly into the library upon arrival to wait for the bus to go to Saginaw. If your child regularly rides the school bus to and from Clemens Mill and you are not able to pick your child up at Clemens at 3:40 p.m., please contact the office at Clemens Mill and we will arrange a taxi to take your child home. This potentially affects only 2 students.
If your child is at Saginaw and they have to attend an appointment during the school day please go directly to Saginaw to sign your child out.
Today, children in the affected classes will be bringing home any wet indoor shoes etc. Their school supplies from their desks are being transported to Saginaw tomorrow.
The children’s regular class teachers will be re-located to Saginaw with their classes and they will be available to you for communication as per normal.
If your child is going to be away from school for the day, please contact our regular Clemens Mill attendance line at 519-570 -8067 ext. 3164.
The Principal at Saginaw is Mr. Chris Eaton and the Head Secretary is Mrs. Maria Filippone and we are so grateful to them and the staff for helping us out during this challenging situation. The school number at Saginaw is 519-624-7111. Mr. McLeman and I will check on our Dolphins at Saginaw each day.
If you have any questions regarding the above please contact me at 519-740-2364 or carolyn_graham@wrdsb.on.ca
Sincerely,
Mrs. Carolyn Graham, Proud Principal, Clemens Mill
