Principal’s Message

Principal’s Message

Is your child participating in extra-curricular activities?  If the answer is no, please take some time to explain the benefits of extra-curricular activities.  Students who participate in extra-curricular activities have strong ties to their school, achieve at a high level and have a healthy social life.  Please also take the time to talk to your child about looking into the various activities offered at our school.  This fall we have both junior and senior choirs.  There are also a number of clubs–everything from a poster club to a tech club to a drama club–which meet on a regular basis.  Athletics, both intramural and school teams, are running as well during nutrition breaks and after school.  Clemens Mill has a vast number of activities available to students.

Fundraising helps the school to pay for extra events and supplies for students; however, the school is sensitive to over-soliciting our community for support.  This fall the school is running a Treasures campaign to raise money to purchase two hydration stations–one for each end of the school–to provide cooled and filtered water to students.  We currently have one hydration station in the foyer.  If every family sells at least one book, the money raised combined with school money will pay for the two stations.  Our other school fundraising activity this fall will be our annual magazine subscription campaign.  The money from this campaign is used to sponsor extra-curricular activities, presentations and trips.

We have had an excellent start to the school year, much of which is owing to solid community support.
